I am from Greenwood, SC, and grew up in a Christian home, but I did not become a Christian until after my freshmen year of college. After spending time with friends in Campus Outreach, I saw a community that really loved me. On a Summer Leadership Project with Campus Outreach, I accepted Christ.
Throughout my time at the Citadel, I became discipled through Campus Outreach and, upon graduation, I decided to go on staff with Campus Outreach in Charleston. I have now been on staff with Campus Outreach since 2013. I have loved sharing the Gospel with students at the Citadel and discipling them as they journey through the difficult environment at the Citadel. I enjoy teaching and equipping students to share their faith with others.
My wife, Anna Crew, and I met in January 2016. We were set up on a blind date by mutual friends and we married in December of 2017. Anna Crew is from Sumter, SC. She comes from a big family of six children and her family continues to grow as her siblings get married and have children. Anna Crew came to know Christ through Young Life in high school. She attended CofC and then MUSC for nursing school. She is currently a nurse and back in school to be a women’s health nurse practitioner and midwife.
We enjoy spending time with our family and friends. We love being outside and often are taking our big Golden Retriever, Chewie, to the park. I love playing golf, basketball, or any sport. Anna Crew loves to bake, cook, and read.
We are very excited about getting to know the youth at Christ Church and we look forward to becoming a part of the growing ministry in Evans!
My passion is children and the excitement of planting seeds to reap a great harvest of committed followers of Jesus Christ. I was raised in a loving Christian home and fell in love with Jesus at an early age through the mentoring of a cousin. As I grew, became an educator and principal, my heart’s desire became to see the love of Jesus in each young heart.
I have two granddaughters whom I have seen come to Christ and know that I am called to reach out to the children under my care for the same results. I retired from education, but no one can ever retire from the call to spread the Gospel, especially to the next generation.
Psalm 71:18 states: “Now also when I am old and grayheaded, O God, do not forsake me, until I declare Your strength to this generation, Your power to everyone who is to come.”
